The religious bogey that made us slaves

“What must a person do, Guruji, if he sees an injustice or violence against a helpless man?”

“Dharma says”, Guruji answers, “the perpetrators of injustice will bear punishment in the next birth, the victim is bearing the fruits of his mistakes in the previous birth. Who are you to interfere in God’s justice?”

An actual discussion on TV, a Guru called Sacchidanandan Maharaj was answering questions on spirituality.

Just about answers the question on how India was enslaved for a thousand years.

And this is the antithesis of what I learnt as a Sikh, to pick up a fight, even a losing battle if you see injustice….
